Did you know, Kevas, that there is a deck that is home to a species of rodent far larger than normal size? And that they are surrounding a rather odd statue with a most curious sign?

What is it for, do you think? IS someone truly feeding a statue every two weeks?

[brb getting an UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL LOOK at it.]

[Ffff Alice be careful.]

[Careful? Is that a word?]

How long has it been here?

Fuh awhile now. Since dat whole Jennifuh t'ing. Why?

Oh, simple curiosity, I suppose.

I wonder what would happen if it weren't fed.

Who knows when it be comin' to dis boat. Might all get turned into chickens until it be gettin' fed. Den again it probably be much worse den dat.

Well now, that's a quite interesting though - though I rather think I would very much dislike being a chicken. I much prefer being myself, even if I am sometimes to small or too tall.

Well, several things, really - I find the size of these rodents to be particularly strange and a tad alarming, and not to mention this statue that proclaims the need to be fed every two weeks. I have never heard of a statue needing food before, but I Suppose that anything is possible, really.

I think that's code for something.

A while ago, the crew stopped looking after it and it began emitting gamma radiation at fatal levels.

How positively odd - though I'm afraid I must ask: has it stopped doing such a thing?

Yes. I checked it, earlier this month. Seems to be back to normal.

Why, how long have you spent with it?

Date: 2010-10-21 01:22 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] entirelybonkers.livejournal.com
Well, not terribly long, I was just doing a bit of exploring, you see - sometimes one can find out quite a bit if they just look around them instead of just aimlessly staring, really - people are quite silly sometimes!

But not long, perhaps a few minutes or so, the rodents were a bit more distracting, I think.

Have you ever seen a rodent that is the size of a small wagon?

The ones on Deck 18? [Not sleeping means lots of exploring time.]

Yes, those are precisely the ones I am speaking of! Have you been up here to see them? It's rather remarkable.

I saw them, but I didn't get too close. I wasn't sure if they were docile or not.

Hm.

[That is a very valid point, you know. Perhaps Alice should have thought this through a bit more.]

Well, they most certainly seem to be rather docile.

All the same, please keep me on the line until you leave. That way if something happens you don't have to worry about losing contact.
